    The University of Maine at Augusta women’s basketball team rolled to a 75-20 victory over Great Bay Community College 75-20 Thursday night in the first round of the Yankee Small College Conference Elite Eight Championships hosted by CMCC. The second-seeded Moose advance to play the third seed, CMCC on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The Mustangs defeated Hampshire earlier in the evening to advance to the semis.

    The University of Maine at Augusta women’s basketball team will begin their quest for a Yankee Small College Conference Championship on Thursday night when the second-seeded Moose take on Great Bay Community College at 9:00 p.m. at Central Maine Community College in the first round of the YSCC Elite Eight. The men’s basketball team enters the Elite Eight Tournament as the fourth seed, the highest ever for the Moose since the creation of the eight-team playoff format, and will take on the University of Maine at Machias at 9:00 on Friday evening.

    The University of Maine at Augusta women’s basketball team remains undefeated after cruising to an 82-33 win over the University of Maine at Machias Thursday night at the Augusta Civic Center. The Moose are now 19-6 overall and 11-0 in the conference, standing alone atop the YSCC East Division with only three games remaining.

    NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Senior Darby Toth was named United States Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week on Tuesday as announced by the national office. Toth also secured Yankee Small College Conference Player of the Week honors for her performance on the court last week. The senior eclipsed the 1,000 point milestone in a victory over University of Maine Presque Isle and his now the sixth player in their history to do so. The Moose remain undefeated in the Yankee Small Conference at 8-0.
  • Women stay undefeated in the conference with win over SMCC

    The University of Maine at Augusta women’s basketball team held on for a crucial conference win Wednesday night, defeating Southern Maine Community College 66-52 in Yankee Small College Conference action. With the victory, the Moose improve to an impressive 9-0 in conference play and 16-6 overall, sitting in first place in the YSCC East Division above both CMCC and SMCC, who are both 7-4 in conference play. The win gives the Moose two victories over SMCC in regular season play.

    Senior women’s basketball player Darby Toth scored the 1,000th point of her career on Sunday afternoon as the University of Maine at Augusta women’s basketball team cruised to a 73-31 victory over the University of Maine at Presque Isle in non-conference action. Toth is the sixth women’s basketball player in team history to reach that milestone. Junior Jamie Plummer was the most recent player to score 1,000 points, hitting the mark last season.

Poirier currently ranks second all-time in points scored with 1199 and remains the leading rebounder in school history.

With the win, UMA improves to 11-4 on the season and 6-0 in conference action, leaving the Moose all alone atop the Eastern Division standings.
