Four Moose Score Double-Digit Points in Loss to Pine Manor

CHESTNUT HILL, MA – The University of Maine at Augusta men's basketball team lost Saturday afternoon to Pine Manor College by a final score of 126-91.  Three Moose players recorded double-doubles in the defeat, led by Keith Chesley with a 33 points and 12 rebounds.

The game started with lots of action for both teams, with the score deadlocked at 18-18 seven minutes in. Pine Manor used a 20-0 run over the course of six minutes to pull away from the Moose, taking a 68-43 lead into halftime.  Chesley and Brandon Rogers each scored 14 points in the first half, with 10 of Rogers's points coming from the free throw line. Garrett Alley also added eight first-half rebounds while Rogers pulled down nine boards in the half.

The second half was more Pine Manor, as they continued to pull away slowly, outscoring the Moose 58-48 in the half to seal the victory.  Chesley scored 19 of his game-high 34 points in the second half, while Alley added 10 more of his own points.

Rogers finished with 22 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assits, while Alley finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.  Caleb Mcguire added 10 points and six rebounds for the Moose, while Taylor Mannix had two points and four rebounds.  Richard Brown, Keith Priest, and Robert Manix all contributed multiple rebounds off the bench.

The Gators had six players score double-digit points in the victory, led by Chancie Williams with 25.

The Moose will be back in action on Saturday, January 24, when they travel to take on Hampshire College.  Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
