CONCORD, NH – The University of Maine at Augusta men's basketball team was defeated Saturday afternoon by Springfield Technical Community College by a final score of 82-70 at the NHTI-Holiday Inn New Year's Men's Classic. Keith Chesley (Clinton, ME) scored a game-high 23 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds in the loss.

The Moose went into the halftime break with a six-point deficit, despite Taylor Wilbur (Manchester, ME) leading all scorers with 15 first-half points. Chesley added 14 points of his own, while also grabbing four rebounds in the half.

In the second half, Brandon Rogers (Turlock, CA) led all players with 15 points, while Chesley added nine points and six rebounds of his own.  Rogers finished the game with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Wilbur finished with 22 points and four assists.

Garrett Alley (Union, ME), Robert Foss (Augusta, ME), and Caleb Mcguire (Whitefield, ME) all added two points each for the Moose in the game, and Taylor Mannix (Hallowell, ME), Keith Priest (Augusta, ME), and Robert Manix (Jackman, ME) all grabbed at least one rebound in the loss.

Kamran Khoshneviss led the Rams with 20 points.  Nate Tardy added 12 points and 15 rebounds for STCC in the victory.

The University of Maine at Augusta is back in action tomorrow, January 11, when they take on Quinsigamond Community College at the NHTI-Holiday Inn New Year's Men's Classic.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
