Chesley has Double-Double; Moose Fall to Pine Manor

In the middle of the image has Brandon Rogers leaping towards the hoop. The ball is in his right hand with a 90 degree bend in his arm. Rogers’ legs are in the air, appearing as if he is running in the air towards the hoop. His facial expression looks as if he were yelling out. Behind Rogers is a defender wearing a white uniform, his arm is outstretched in front of Rogers' face. In the background are UMA moose player's Keith Chesley and Garrett Alley, watching with amazement and intensity.

SOUTH PORTLAND, ME-- In their fourth game in 5 days, the Moose took on NCAA Division III opponent Pine Manor College at a neutral site (Southern Maine Community College).  The Moose started out with incredible momentum taking an early lead 24-14 but Pine Manor’s depth and intensive defensive pressure allowed them to fight back and take control of the game with eight minutes left in the first half.

Junior Keith Chesley (Clinton, ME) lead the Moose with 16 points and 10 boards while freshman Taylor Wilbur (Manchester, ME) also pitched in 16 points and four steals.  Junior Brandon Rogers (Turlock, CA) had 15 points and pulled down eight boards.  It was a team effort for the Moose as Robert Foss (Augusta, ME) had six points and both Caleb McGuire (Whitefield, ME) and Domenic Malaga (Warwick, RI) had five points.  Garrett Alley (Union, ME) pitched in four points, Robert Manix (Jackman, ME) had three points, and both Taylor Mannix (Portland, ME) and Jordan Carson (Sidney, ME) each scored a bucket.  The Moose shot 45% overall and 54% from beyond the arc.

Ultimately the depth and pressure were too much for the Moose as Pine Manor ran away with the win; 107-74.

The Moose turn right around and match up against YSCC conference opponent Eastern Maine Community College on Thursday, December 11th at the Augusta Civic Center at 7:30p.m.
