Men's Cross Country Competes in YSCC Conference Championship

CONCORD, NH –NHTI hosted the YSCC Cross County Conference Championships this past weekend with 8 schools competing on a beautiful fall day in New England. The NHTI loop style course that circumnavigates a small pond on campus is picturesque, flat, and fast and many runners raced their way to personal bests during the meet.

On the men's side all 5 runners paced the first few miles together in a pack and slowly Cole Winslow pushed ahead followed by Christian Alley. Senior Sam Gerken followed closely behind Alley and freshmen Brandon Hemingway and Angus Putnum rounded out the Moose scoring.

At the YSCC conference championship Avenie Lauseig ran an outstanding race, going through the first few miles in 7th place and then using the remaining distance to work her way up to finishing 4th overall. This performance landed Lauseig on the YSCC All Conference team, as well as the highest individual finish by an UMA women's cross country runner in the conference championship. Freshman Dulce Moguel also executed a successful first race in the 6K distance followed by sophomore Hunter Hoague an Bethanie Lovely.
