MOOSE BRING HOME A GOLD

The Moose competed at the USCAA National Championship April 28th & 29th in their final competition of the season. The USCAA meet also doubled as the Yankee Small College Conference Championships.  Due to weather conditions the pole vault was held Friday night in slightly windy conditions where Sophomore Cole Martin soared to a height of 3.70m to place first in both the USCAA and YSCC meets winning his first individual national championship. Moving onto Saturday the weather became cool, rainy and windy. Senior Gabe Roig led the way for the men with a 6th place finish in the javelin which also placed him 2nd in the YSCC.

On the women's side Freshman Loran McAlpine placed 5th in the USCAA and 2nd in the YSCC in the discus in slippery conditions with a throw of 29.77m. Loran followed up with an 11th place showing in the shot put, just missing the finals with a throw of 8.07m. This also placed her 3rd in the YSCC meet. Freshman Caitlyn Denico placed 16th in the 800 knocking over 10 seconds off her personal best. Her performance also placed her 3rd in the YSCC.
 
At the end of the day the Moose had Cole Martin recognized as a YSCC All-Conference team members. As a team the men placed 11th and 7th in the USCAA and YSCC respectively. The women placed 14th and 6th in the USCAA and YSCC respectively
