AUGUSTA, MAINE – The UMA men's basketball team celebrated senior night with a match up against the NHTI Lynx. The Moose celebrated three senior who have been extremely dedicated to the program. Noah Thompson, Dustin Simpson-Bragg, and Jake Cummings saw their last collegiate basketball game at the Augusta Civic Center wearing their white uniforms.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior night proved to be a high scoring event on both sides. Both the Moose and the Lynx shot over 45% from the field on the game but it was the Lynx who finished the first half shooting 62.5% from the field connecting for 71 first half points. The Moose saw major production from Brown who went 7-12 from the field; netting 14 points in the first half and dishing out 4 assists. Simpson-Bragg added 11 points in the first half and forcing 3 NHTI turnovers. Senior co-captain Noah Thompson pitched in three 3's in the first half. Sam Dorrissaint for NHTI was the leading scorer at halftime pitching in 22 points and adding 4 assists and 4 rebounds.
More of the same offensive action in the second half leading to a 15 point contribution from Dustin Simpson-Bragg, but notably, the Moose bench combined for 30 second half points lead by Patrick Robertson with 10. The Moose outshot NHTI in the second at 48% but ultimately could not overcome the first half deficit and went on to be defeated; 127-113.
