My name is Jacob Bessey and I am from the town of Jay, Maine. I graduated high school in 2012 from Spruce Mountain High School. In college I studied Computer Technology at SMCC while also playing basketball, after 1 year I transferred to University of Maine at Farmington. At UMF I studied Secondary Education and switched to baseball. During my baseball career at UMF I was captain of the team and was selected to the NAC All-Tournament team. After graduating college I became a science teacher at Lewiston Middle School and coached baseball at Spruce Mountain for the last 2 years. In my first year of coaching I was awarded "Coach of the Year" and led Spruce to tie their best season ever. With a wealth of knowledge about baseball I am excited to start my college coaching career. My coaching mindset involves high individual effort and high team energy. I'm looking to have fun while also looking to improve every single day. I'm grateful to UMA for allowing me the opportunity to join their amazing athletic program. GO MOOSE!
