UNITY, ME—It was a group effort on Tuesday night as the Lady Moose sailed by Unity in YSCC conference match up. UMA came out fired up led by captain Jamie Plummer (Richmond, ME) who scored 19 points in the first four and a half minutes of the contest. The Moose shot 55% on the game and 90% from the free throw line. Each Moose player scored and rebounded. At the half, the Lady Moose had a 51-28 lead over and never looked back.
“It was team basketball,” boasts Coach Jennifer Laney. “Everyone pitched in, everyone worked hard, and together we succeeded.” Plummer finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. Kylie Kemp (Monmouth, ME) put up 17 points with 8-13 shooting from the floor and seven rebounds. Co-captain Jessica St. Amand (Windsor, ME) finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. Kori Coro (Jackman, ME) gave a surge of energy to the Moose putting up 14 points and dishing out two assists. Carmen Bragg (Washburn, ME) pitched in seven points and three assists, while freshman Monique Moore (Jefferson, ME) put up five points and four boards.
Krystin Kemp (Monmouth, ME) added three points and four boards while senior Erica Fredrick-Rock (Augusta, ME) pitched in two points and nine rebounds.
The Lady Moose have a quick turn around traveling to Bates College to take on the Mules at 7:00p.m.
