LaFountain Signs with Lady Moose

AUGUSTA, ME – The University of Maine at Augusta women’s basketball team is pleased to announce the commitment of Caitlin LaFountain for the 2015-16 school year.  LaFountain graduated from Mt. Ararat in the spring of 2014.

In high school, LaFountain ranked top-five all time in points, assists, and rebounds for Mt. Ararat, while finding a spot on the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Second Team three years in a row.  LaFountain was also named as a Maine Association of Basketball Coaches McDonald’s All Star in 2014.

“I am looking forward to getting to play with and get to know all the girls and coaches,” says LaFountain. “Academically, I’m looking forward to figuring out what I’m interested in doing for the rest of my life. I will definitely enjoy every minute of the next four years.” LaFountain was a member of the National Honor Society in her junior and senior years.

"Caitlin is an incredible athlete with an extremely positive mindset,” says Lady Moose head coach Jennifer Laney. “Her versatility and team-first mentality will be a great fit with our program.  We are thrilled to welcome her to our Lady Moose family."
