AUGUSTA, ME— On Saturday, May 12th the University of Maine at August held it’s 50th graduation ceremony.  Among the graduates were five student-athletes including Carmen Bragg (cross country; basketball), Elise Bolduc (soccer; cross country); Tali Amero (cross country), Kylie Kemp (basketball), and Anthony Guimond (cross country).  These four student-athletes have excelled in the classroom and also within their respective sports here at UMA.

Carmen Bragg graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology.  During her time here at UMA, Carmen was also involved in the Honors program and the Student Government Association.  She excelled in both cross country and basketball.  In 2017, she was honored as the USCAA Student-Athlete of the Year for women’s basketball division II.  At graduation, Carmen was awarded the Kathleen Dexter Distinguished Student Award for her achievements throughout her collegiate career.

Elise Bolduc graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture.  She participated in both soccer and cross country during her time here.  Elise was part of the first women’s cross-country team in school history to earn a trip to the National championships.  Elise recorded a personal record at a meet hosted by Colby College in 2014.

Tali Amero also graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and was a part of the cross-country team that earned a spot at the USCAA National Tournament in 2014.  Tali had a PR of 26:42 in a race held at Colby College.

Anthony Guimond graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  He ran for the cross-country team here at UMA and also served as the President of the Student Government Association. Anthony led the UMA bowling team in both his junior and senior year. At graduation, Anthony carried the mace to lead the entire graduating class into the ceremony.  Anthony will be continuing his education at Northeastern University.

Please help us to congratulate these student-athletes on their success here at UMA.  While they will now venture onto the next chapter, we hope they remember: Once a Moose, Always a Moose!
