Coach Coleman's Thoughts:
“Jalen has a very promising future in a Moose uniform. He has very good range shooting the ball but also is skilled enough to create shots for himself and his teammates. High character and commitment are two qualities that bring value not only to our program, but also to our student body. As a freshman, he has immersed himself into the culture we are creating and is a big piece to what we are building.”
Get to know Jalen:
Why did you choose UMA?
I decided to come to UMA because I loved what coach Coleman had to say about rebuilding the culture and getting UMA back to its winning ways.
How do you balance both academics and athletics?
I've balanced athletics and academics by scheduling myself. Before and after practices are the best times for me to get things done.
Do you have any pets?
At home I have two Yorkies and cat.
What is your favorite meal?
My favorite meal is definitely the Chipotle bowl with chicken, white rice, black beans, corn, sour cream, queso, cheese, and guacamole.
What is your favorite part about UMA?
My favorite part about UMA is the living situation. It’s like basically living a really nice apartment with a full kitchen inside there.
What is your favorite thing about being a part of a team?
My favorite part about being on the team is being with my teammates. We all have pretty good chemistry and have a good time when we are around each other.
Who is your mentor/role model?
My dad and my sister are my heroes. My dad has helped me grow into the player I am now and always believed in me to succeed on the court. He also helped me become the man I am today. My sister has helped me through the hardest times in my life. At my lowest points, she helped me get right back up to my feet.
