2017 YSCC Bowling Championship Weekend

AUGUSTA, ME – The YSCC championship bowling tournament took place this past weekend at Sparetime Recreation with team play kicking off on Saturday and individual competition on Sunday.

UMA had 3 teams in the tournament, 2 from the Augusta campus and another team representing the Bangor campus.
 
The Moose kicked of team play on Saturday with UMA (2) narrowly edging out a win against Vermont Tech 332.8 to 312.2 sending them to face off against Paul Smith’s (2) in the quarter finals where they would eventually be defeated 440.2 to 289.6.
 

UMA Bangor, led by Kaitlyn Norwood, also won their opening game against NHTI (1) 398.8 to 313.4 sending them to face Paul Smith’s (1) in the quarterfinals. 

UMA (1) faced NHTI (2) in what would be a close back and forth competition in the quarter finals that ended with a UMA victory sending them to the semifinals to face the eventual championship team Paul Smith (1).

In individual play on Sunday UMA had 7 women make the top 20 and would eventually see Lindsay Clark for UMA make it into the final 4 playoff where she would go on the finish 4th overall in the league.
 
On the men’s side of individual play UMA was represented senior Richard Cormier who would finish the day in 13th place as well as Anthony Guimond who ended the day in 7th place.
