Moose Comeback Falls Short against Vermont Tech

BANGOR, ME – The University of Maine at Augusta men's basketball team fell Sunday afternoon against Vermont Technical College by a final score of 49-47.  Keith Chesley led all scorers with 16 points in the game.  Brandon Rogers recorded a game-high 13 rebounds in the defeat.

The Moose and VTC traded blows for the better part of the first half, going back and forth until the Knights used a late 7-0 run to get out to a five point halftime lead, going into the locker room up 30-25.  Taylor Wilbur led the Moose in the first half, scoring nine points while Rogers grabbed seven rebounds.

In the second half, the Moose would battle back to close the gap, however they were unable to complete the comeback as a last second shot by Rogers came up just short.  Chesley scored 10 of his 16 points in the second half, while Garrett Alley chipped in six points to bring his game total to 10.

Rogers added seven points and five blocks to his 13 rebounds, and Wilbur finished with 12 points in the defeat.  Richard Brown added two points and three rebounds off the bench, while Taylor Mannix had two steals for the Moose.

For VTC, Logan White scored 12 points and Jamal Hughes added 10 of his own while each of them grabbed six rebounds.
