Moose fall to Quinsigamond Community College

CONCORD, NH – The University of Maine at Augusta men's basketball team fell to Quinsigamond Community College 92-73 on Sunday afternoon at the NHTI-Holiday Inn New Year's Men's Classic. Brandon Rogers (Turlock, CA) and Keith Chesley (Clinton, ME) each scored 23 in the loss.

The Moose were down five going into the half, 47-42. Rogers had a strong first half, almost notching a double-double, netting 16 points and grabbing nine boards. Garrett Alley (Union, ME) added four points and three boards in the first half.

In the second half, Chesley led the way for the Moose, scoring 14 points. Keith Priest (Augusta, ME) added nine of his own points in the second while finishing with 14.  Taylor Mannix (Hallowell, ME) grabbed three boards and dished out two assists in the second half.
 
Taylor Wilbur (Manchester, ME) was perfect from the free throw line, hitting all six of his attempts in the game. Robert Foss (Augusta, ME) had three assists in the game. Robert Manix (Jackman, ME) and Caleb McGuire (Whitefield, ME) each also grabbed atleast three boards.
 
Jeffery Burke led the way for Quinsigamond Community College, notching 31 points in the victory. Ernesto Guerrero finished with a double-double, scoring ten points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
 
The University of Maine Augusta will return to the hardwood when they travel to Southern Maine Community College on January 14th. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
