UMA Golf Improving As a Team

CONCORD, NH – The UMA golf team started their weekend on the road with a stop at Beaver Meadows Golf Course this past weekend to compete against YSCC opponents NHTI, Paul Smith College, and SMCC.

The Moose brought a squad of five golfers this weekend and showed improvement across the board with Ty Cowan leading the way notching an 83 for the day followed by  John "Zach" Alden who recorded an 88. Bradford Kraft demonstrated that he is adapting and progressing as a collegiate golfer after shooting a 98.

Kathryn Ross continues to make steady improvements taking 11 strokes off her score from the previous week on the same course, a significant improvement.

Assistant golf coach, Josh Smith, was very happy with the weekend noting, "As a team, Saturday was our most successful tournament in quite a few years.  All our players improved on their previous week's scores and we posted the lowest team score in my time as a coach.  Ty Cowan improved by almost 20 strokes and Katherine Ross dropped her score despite accidentally breaking her driver during warm ups."
