Greig leads Moose in first golf match

SOUTH PORTLAND, ME -- Saturday afternoon (Sept. 6) the University of Maine at Augusta golf team played in their first match of the season at Sable Oaks golf course against Yankee Small College Conference opponent Southern Maine Community College (SMCC).  UMA fell to SMCC 359-372 despite a very impressive performance by newcomer Robert Greig (Augusta, ME) who shot 81 (tying SMCC Seawolves, Grayson Waterman for second place on the day).   Following Grieg’s lead was senior Jake Roddy (Belgrade, ME) who shot a 92 and Keith Ross (Winthrop, ME) with a 94.  Freshman Keith Priest (Augusta, ME) who shot a 105 on the day and Senior Josh Smith (Rome, ME) with a score of 111 rounded off an impressive first match for the Moose. 

It was Benjamin Chaine of SMCC with the winning score of 80 on the day.

UMA will host next Saturday (Sept. 13) at Natanis Golf Course where they will take on both Southern Maine Community College and Eastern Maine Community College at 1:00 p.m.
