Moose Power Past EMCC

AUGUSTA, ME— The Moose matched up with Eastern Maine Community College for a YSCC Conference game on Thursday night at the Augusta Civic Center.  This was their fifth game in six days but you wouldn’t have been able to tell.  The Moose were a tough and formidable opponent against Eastern Maine.  The first half was a constant back and forth with many lead changes resulting in a 34-34 halftime score.  Both teams were scoring from the perimeter and allowed that to open up their game on the inside. 

Both teams his 26 shots overall, both teams hitting nine from the three.  This game came down to the line; the free throw line.  Eastern Maine went 13-20 from the line while the Moose went to the line for 26 freebee’s, connecting for 21 of them lead by senior Keith Chesley (Clinton, ME) who went 10-10.  This made the difference in the game as the Moose went on to win 82-74 pulling away in the last few minutes.

Both Chesley and Brandon Rogers (Turlock, CA) boasted double-doubles.  Rogers had 22 points and 17 rebounds while Chelsey had 24 points and 23 rebounds.  Freshman Taylor Wilbur (Manchester, ME) was on fire from beyond the arc connecting for five three-pointers.

Garrett Alley (Union, ME) had seven points and six rebounds.  Domenic Malaga (Warwick, RI) pitched in three momentum shifting points in the last three minutes of the game.   Taylor Mannix (Portland, ME) put up four points while Jordan Carson (Sidney, ME) added a free throw.  

The Moose are back in action for their last conference game of the semester on Saturday, December 13th at the University of Maine at Machias.  The men tip off at 3:00p.m.  GO MOOSE!
