Bengals outrun Moose
Fort Kent, ME – The Moose traveled to Fort Kent, ME over the weekend to take on the University of Maine at Fort Kent Bengals. UMA jumped out to an early lead over the Bengals with their strong inside game finishing the first quarter up by 5 points. Fort Kent battled back in the second with their outside game to tie up the ball game heading into the half.
The Bengals came out of the half with a bang, connecting long range and capitalizing on 50/50 opportunities; outscoring the Moose 38-20 in the second half.
The Moose were led by Sydney Leblanc (Madison, ME) with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals and Madeline Suhr (Georgetown, ME) with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 3 assists. Also in double figures for the Moose was Kaeti Butterfield who netted 10 points and 4 rebounds. The Moose were near perfect from the charity stripe shooting 7 for 8.
Ranika Guyton and Hannah Jones led the Bengals, each with 18.
The Moose are slated to compete against St. Joseph's College (ME) this coming weekend.
