Bengels Outpace Moose

Bengels Outpace Moose

UNITY, MAINE – UMA women's basketball hosted the University of Maine Fort Kent at Unity College Wednesday night and struggled with the Bengals fast paced offense.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bengals used their speed advantage over the Moose in the first half to build a sizeable lead capitalizing off of the turnovers they forced. The Moose ended the first half down 22-42 leaving work to be done in the second half to try and reduce the Bengals lead.

UMFK continued to control the second half as the Moose were plagued by turnovers (34). UMFK were able to score 38 points off of turnovers with 44 points coming from within the paint. Early foul trouble for Caitlin LaFountain forced limited minutes for the standout senior making it difficult to defend UMFK within the paint. The Moose did have a size advantage and that showed as they out rebounded the Bengels 36-32.
