Jamie Plummer named YSCC Player of the Year

SOUTH PORTLAND, ME – The Yankee Small College Conference hosted their annual awards banquet Friday afternoon where it was announced that UMA's own Jamie Plummer was named the 2017 YSCC Player of the Year.

UMA Moose Athletic Director Jennifer Laney said:

"She has been our vocal, mental, and physical leader for the past four seasons. She has worked through faceguards, double and triple team, and has achieved the stats. She has made an impact on every facet of our program and has helped to bring teammates up to new levels. Plummer is the all-time leading scorer and rebounder at UMA."

This was the second time in Plummer's 4 years as a Moose receiving this award, the first being during her sophomore year.

When you dig into Plummer's career stats you start to get a sense of how consistent she has been as a player since her freshman year. She has averaged just shy of 500 points a season with a career total that stands at 1,997. Plummer has played a pivotal role on defense grabbing 1,186 career rebounds, 155 steals, and 201 blocks demonstrating that she is a force on both sides of the court.

Stats aside, Plummer's greatest contribution to UMA basketball has been leadership. Those within the program have been able to witness first hand the positivity she brings both on and off the court. Plummer hopes to continue her education after graduating from UMA by pursuing a graduate degree with a focus in physical therapy.
