Moose travel to Downeast to sink Clippers

MACHIAS, MAINE— The UMA women's basketball team made the trip up and over to the University of Maine Machias on Thursday afternoon to take on the Clippers (7-11) in conference play.

The Moose took some time to shake out their road legs allowing the Clippers to close out the first quarter up 14-10.
At the start of the second quarter the Moose loosed up and started connecting from behind the line. Dominique Lewis's shot from behind the arc found the back of the net putting the Moose up 17-16 and there was no looking back from there. The Moose would contribute 4 more 3's in the second quarter putting them up 30-18 at the half.
 
In the second half of play the Moose stepped up their defense slowing down the Clippers ability to keep up with UMA's offense. Courtney Dunton went 5-6 on the night netting 12 points in 17 minutes of play.
Carmen Bragg and Dominique Lewis shot 53% combined from 3-point land. Bragg contributing 13 points and and 6 rebounds and Lewis netted 17 points and 9 rebounds.
 
The Moose will play their last regular season home game on February 9th at the Augusta Civic Center at 7:30PM.
