Lady Moose Cruise by University of Maine at Machias, 69-29

AUGUSTA, ME – The University of Maine at Augusta women's basketball team cruised to victory Wednesday evening when they defeated the University of Maine at Machias by a final score of 69-29.  Jamie Plummer recorded her eighth consecutive double-double, netting 30 points while collecting 16 rebounds.

The first half belonged to the Moose from the opening tip, as they opened the game by scoring 20 points in a row in the first six minutes of play.  UMA would use that momentum to generate a 35-15 halftime lead, powered by Kylie Kemp, who led the Moose scoring 12 first half points. Plummer added 10 points in the half, while Kori Coro collected five rebounds off the bench for UMA.

In the second half, Plummer found a groove and scored 20 points, leading the Moose to victory.  Coro grabbed four more rebounds in the second half, giving her nine for the game.  Monique Moore finished with nine points and eight rebounds for UMA, while Jessica St. Amand scored eight points while grabbing eight rebounds.  Carmen Bragg had six assists and five rebounds in the victory, and Erica Fredrick-Rock scored two points while pulling in two boards.

For the University of Maine at Machias, Alicen Brooks scored 14 points in the loss, and Brooklynne Lewis collected 10 rebounds.

The University of Maine at Augusta is back in action on Friday, February 6, when they travel to Eastern Maine Community College.  Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
