Lady Moose fall in OT thriller

UNITY, ME – The University of Maine at Augusta women's basketball team fell Sunday afternoon to St. Joseph's (VT) by a final score of 83-79. Jamie Plummer notched a double-double in the contest, scoring 28 points and grabbing 24 rebounds.

The Moose took an 11-point lead into the half, leading 39-28. Carmen Bragg dropped 13 points in the half while shooting 3-3 from beyond the arc. Monique Moore added four points and two rebounds in the half.

The Fighting Saints fought their way back into the contest, outscoring the Lady Moose 41-30 in the second half to force overtime. Jessica St. Amand finished the game with 13 points and three steals. Kori Coro contributed four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Despite early foul trouble, Kylie Kemp ended the game with team high four assists and scored six points.

Jazz Laracuente was the leading scorer for the Fighting Saints, netting 31 points. Regina Steele grabbed 13 boards in the win.

The Lady Moose return to the hardwood on January 29 when they travel to Central Maine Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
