Double-Doubles from Plummer and Kemp Not Enough For Lady Moose against SMCC

PORTLAND, ME – The University of Maine Augusta women's basketball team fell to Southern Maine Community College on Wednesday night by a score of 86-58. Jamie Plummer and Kylie Kemp both tallied double-doubles in the loss.

Southern Maine Community College used scoring from 11 players to jump out to early lead.  Plummer led the scoring for the Lady Moose in the first half netting eight while Jessica St. Amand scored six of her own.  Carmen Bragg scored five points and hit both free throws she attempted in the half.

The second half showed more scoring from UMA, with Kemp and Plummer scoring 15 and 14 respectively. The Lady Moose out-rebounded the Lady Seawolves in the second half 23-15. Monique Moore hit a three pointer and grabbed a defensive board in the game. Kori Coro finished the game with seven rebounds, one assist and a steal.

The Lady Moose return to the hardwood on Saturday, January 17 when they travel to Chestnut Hill to take on the Pine Manor Gators. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 PM.
