Lady Moose Drop Nail-Biter to Berkeley (NY)

CONCORD, NH – The University of Maine at Augusta women's basketball team fell at the hands of Berkeley College (NY) by a final score of 60-59 on Saturday afternoon at the New Hampshire Technical Institute's New Year's Women's Tournament.  Jamie Plummer (Richmond, ME) led all scorers in the game, posting 23 points and 12 rebounds.

The Lady Moose got out to the halftime lead, heading into the locker room up by a score of 31-26.  Berkeley (NY) would not go away, however, and outscored the Lady Moose 34-28 in the second half.  Jessica St. Amand (Windsor, ME) scored 14 points for UMA, while Carmen Bragg (Washburn, ME) added 12 points for the Lady Moose. Kylie Kemp (Monmouth, ME) scored eight points and pulled in 10 boards, and Kori Coro (Jackman, ME) added five points in the loss.

Champagne Hazel scored a team-high 22 points in the win for the Knights, while Janay Thomas added 12 points.

The Lady Moose are back in action tomorrow, January 11, when they take on Massasoit Community College in the NHTI New Year's Women's Tournament consolation game at 10:00 a.m.
