AUGUSTA, Maine – Sophomore Arreonte Lee (San Antonio, Tex) scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds Tuesday night in leading the University of Maine at Augusta women's basketball team to an 83-45 win over Eastern Maine Community College in Yankee Small College Conference action. Freshman Jamie Plummer (Richmond, Maine) was 7-18 from the floor for the Moose, scoring 24 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Despite a sluggish start, this game was never really in doubt. UMA strung together an 18-3 run mid-way through the first half to secure a lead they would never relinquish. Head Coach Jennifer Laney's team was absolutely dominant on the boards, out-rebounding the Eagles 61-36, including a career-high nine rebounds for three-sport athlete Angie Bulgin (Lisbon, Maine). Senior Haley Madore (Winslow, Maine) also kicked in nine boards on the night. The Moose converted those boards into 22 second chance points to three from EMCC.

Defensively, UMA had ten blocks and 14 steals, with Lee collecting four of each. Freshman Courtney Jicks (Lake Charles, La.) continued her stellar freshman campaign, with 14 points and six rebounds; Jennifer Lola (Monmouth, Maine) was the other Moose in double-digits, going four for seven from the floor for 12 points.

EMCC was led by junior Kara Herbert (Embden, Maine) who scored 30 points for the Eagles. UMA returns to action Saturday when they travel to Unity for conference action.
