Lee turns in another triple-double in Lady Moose win

RANDOLPH CENTER, Vt. - Sophomore Arreonte Lee (San Antonio, Tex.) turned in her second consecutive triple-double Sunday afternoon, leading the University of Maine at Augusta women's basketball team to a 76-41 win over Vermont Technical College. Lee scored a game-high 29 points, pulled down 11 boards and dished out 11 assists to help the Moose improve to 8-7 overall and 4-3 in the Yankee Small College Conference.

The Moose had the hot hand early and often on Sunday, shooting 50% from the floor (35-70). UMA trailed only once, by two at the 15:18 mark in the first half, before finishing the half with an 18-5 run to enter the locker room with a 36-21 advantage. Head Coach Jennifer Laney's team was led in the first by junior Jennifer Lola who scored 15 of her 23 points in the opening half.

Lee led UMA in the second half, scoring 20 of her 29 points to carry her team. Both Jamie Plummer (Richmond, Maine) and Courtney Jicks (Lake Charles, La.) were also in double-digits with 12 points each. Plummer also kicked in 11 rebounds, while Jix pulled down none boards and netted three steals.

Game notes: The women return to conference action Wednesday when they travel to Southern Maine Community College in YSCC play. The Moose host Unity College on Thursday at the Augusta Civic Center with a 5:30 tip-off. Lee is currently ranked third in the YSCC in scoring (19.1 ppg), first in assists (6.6 pg) and fourth in the nation in assists; while Plummer is fourth in the YSCC in rebounding (11.7 pg).
