Lee named Yankee Small College Conference Player of the Week

AUGUSTA, Maine - Sophomore Arreonte Lee (San Antonio, Tex.; Criminal Justice) was named the Yankee Small College Conference Player of the Week as she led the UMA Women's basketball team to a 1-1 performance in the New Hampshire Technical Institute New Year's Tip Off Tournament over the weekend. The 5'9 guard turned in the first triple-double of her career in Sunday's win over host NHTI, with a game-high 26 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists.

"Arreonte really excelled in all areas of the game," said head coach Jennifer Laney. "She was able to adjust her game to fill the role we needed when we needed it. If we needed her to score, she scored; if we needed her to handle the ball, she handled the ball. It was a solid all-around performance from her."

For the weekend, Lee averaged 21.5 points and 5.5 assists, along with nine rebounds per game. This is the first time she has received the award this season, and the third time in her two year career at UMA.
