ALBANY, New York. – The University of Maine at Augusta lost to the defending National Champions Albany Pharmacy College 70-48 in game one Saturday night. On Sunday the Lady Moose then defeated Pennsylvania College 96-50 in a high scoring affair led by Junior Jenn Lola (Monmouth, Maine) who had 39 points, and made 8 three-pointers. Lola broke the school record of single points in a game and three-pointers made. Sophomore Arreonte Lee (San Antonio, Texas) recorded 28 points and 21 rebounds.

With the split the Lady Moose moved to 3-1 on the year.

Jenn Lola was the previous record holder for three-pointers and single points in a game. In 08-09 Lola set the record for three-pointers with 7, and in her 11-12 season she set the points record with 37.
"We had an extremely successful weekend overall," said head coach Jennifer Laney. "We came together as a team and showcased our strengths. We were able to get out in transition and use our speed to an advantage. There was a lot of growth within the team play this past week."

With the victory in the game vs. Pennsylvnia College, the Lady Moose out-rebounded Penn College 72-52. Coach Laney's stingy defense stole the ball 12 times, and forced 23 turnovers. The women's team had three players that recorded double-doubles. Jamie Plummer (Richmond, Maine) 10 points and 11 rebounds, Courtney Jicks (Lake Charles, Louisiana) 13 points and 10 rebounds, Arreonte Lee 28 points and 21 rebounds.

The Lady Moose has gained a lot of experience with the weekend's match-ups, and, according to Coach Laney, now realizes what it's going to take for Nationals. UMA is building stride, next up is Thomas College Tuesday Night.
