Entering her 4th season at the University of Maine at Augusta, Coach Laney is looking to make a run at Nationals. "We have very high hopes this season, and are keeping our eye on Nationals. We are going to take one game at a time and keep getting better."-Laney
Coach Laney is conducting a well-oiled machine this year, consisting of a run and gun set team. In the Lady Moose's first game at Eastern Maine Arreonte Lee, Courtney Jicks, and Jamie Plummer all nearly played 40 minutes of basketball. Coach Laney prides her team on conditioning.

"I think in the second half of games we can begin to wear other teams down."

This is remarkable considering that four out of the five starters play the majority of the game.

Coach Laney is fortunate enough to return USCAA All-American Arreonte Lee. Lee brings athleticism to another level, going coast to coast on every opportunity. Jen Lola is a returner from the 2011-12 season. Jen holds the record for the most three pointers in a single game and will be a key addition. Coach also has two key freshman additions that are contributing nicely to the team. Local freshman guard Jamie Plummer was a 1,000-point scorer at Richmond High School. Plummer carries heighth and sheer basketball talent to the team. Courtney Jicks, also a freshman, received All District Defensive MVP for Barbe High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Jicks not only brings an accent to the team but also has a will to defend and provides great versatility.

Coach Laney and the Lady Moose will embark on a tough first half schedule. The Moose travel to Albany, New York on November 16th for a two-day tournament. Two days later the team will have back-to-back games, facing Thomas College and Central Maine Community College. On December 6th the Moose will compete at Norwich University in Vermont, for another two-day tournament. The Lady Moose will finish out their first semester at New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI) on December 12th.

"I think the first half of our schedule will be highly competitive and bring out some really good competition. We will continue to get better through every game."

So far the Lady Moose have played in an exhibition game at Unity and their first official game away at Eastern Maine. The team came away victorious to record a 1-0 start. They hold their next game Saturday 11/9 at the University of Maine at Machias.

UMA Athletics: "We will face great competition first semester, which will be a challenging we will grow as a team and get better."
