Lee named USCAA First Team All American

AUGUSTA, Maine - University of Maine at Augusta Freshman Arreonte Lee (San Antonio, Tex.) was named a first team All-American Wednesday morning by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

Lee, a 5'9 guard out of Sam Houston High School, helped carried the Moose to the third playoff appearance in the last three years. The Moose fell to eventual runners up NHTI 63-60 in the first round.

"Arreonte did a tremendous job for us this season," said third year head coach Jennifer Laney. "She did not come in to the program as a point guard, but stepped in to that role when we needed her to. She constantly challenges herself and is determined to always give 100%."

Lee was also named to the Yankee Small College Conference first team, as she led the conference in scoring (20.8 ppg) and ranked in the top ten in rebounds, assists, blocks and steals. She three times scored over 30 points, netting a career best 32 points on two separate occasions.

During the last week of the regular season, Lee was named USCAA Player of the Week, and also received YSCC Player of the Week honors in December.
