Lee receives national honors

AUGUSTA, Maine – Freshman guard Arreonte Lee (San Antonio, Tex) was named United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Player of the Week for her outstanding play last week.

In two games for head coach Jennifer Laney's squad, Lee recorded 45 points, 24 rebounds, eight assists and five steals to go along with four blocks. Lee's performance led the team to a 2-0 week, including victories over Yankee Small College Conference rivals Eastern Maine Community College and NHTI.

The highlight of the week for Lee was the game winning shot she hit with three seconds remaining to lift the Moose to a 61-59 victory over NHTI. The Lady Moose head into the first round of the playoffs today, facing off against NHTI at 3:00 at Central Maine Community College.

Lee was previously honored in December when she was named YSCC Player of the Week. The 5'9 guard currently leads the conference in scoring, averaging 20.7 points per game; which also ranks third nationally.
