UMA Wins Dual Meet Versus Unity

UMA Wins Dual Meet Versus Unity

UNITY, ME – The UMA men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Unity over the weekend to compete in a dual meet hosted by Unity College.

With a coed start and scoring both teams took off on the 4K course first making their way around the soccer field before entering a technical trail through the woods that would eventually bring them to the lower portion of campus. From there they would tackle the one significant hill of the day before the final 500 meters to the finish.

Unity's Chris Milne finished first overall in 16:39 followed closely by UMA's Sam Gerken in 16:46. From there the Moose solidified their score with Dustin Simpson-Bragg finishing 3rd and Jake Cummings 5th.

Faith Krause led the women for the Moose finishing 11th overall in a time of 22:52. Marissa Crosby made her debut for the UMA in her first competition rounding out the women's team scoring.

With strong efforts from both the men's and women's team UMA captured their first team victory in program history.

UMA will be hosting their first ever home Invitational at Augusta Campus on Saturday September 22nd. The women's race begins at 11AM followed by the men's race at noon. Spectators and volunteers are welcome!
