Men's Track and Field Finish 8th at Thomas College Meet

WATERVILLE, Maine – The University of Maine at Augusta outdoor track & field teams traveled to Waterville for the Thomas College Outdoor Invitational that drew competition from 9 colleges from across the state including 4 in the UMaine System.

On the women's side Emily Billings finished 2nd in the 400m in a time of 1:08.82 followed by Jenna Petrovic in 1:13.05 good enough for 8th overall. UMA's women 4x100m finished 2nd in 58.89 followed by Unity College. Abby Haskell scored for the Moose in the long jump (5th) and the triple jump (3rd). Kate Stevens and Charlene Baringer took 6th and 7th in the hammer.

On the men's side Sam Gerken ran a PR in the 100m (11.90) and finished 3rd in the 400m with a PR of 53.56. Samuel Scott threw a new personal best in the javelin (43.93m) good enough for 3rd overall. Nate Martin finished 4th in the triple jump and 6th in the long jump.

Both teams improved over last week with the men finishing 8th Maine Maritime and the women 6th ahead of Maine-Fort Kent, Maine-Presque Isle, and Maine Maritime.

Women's Meet Highlights

  • Abby Haskell scored for the Moose in the long jump (5th) and the triple jump (3rd)
