Moose Come Up Short Against CMCC

AUGUSTA, ME – UMA had their season home opener at the Augusta Civic Center in front of a crowd of 200 supporting the Moose as they took on YSCC conference opponent CMCC (5-1).

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Moose started the game with 13 points in the first 90 seconds putting CMCC on their heels trying to respond with the same energy. Both teams played up tempo basketball making use of their benches to keep the pace of the game fast. The Moose went into the half leading 47-44 off a three pointer by Dustin Simpson-Bragg in the final seconds.

Coming out of the locker room at half CMCC went on a 11-0 run until junior Nate Martin made a layup off of an assist from senior Noah Thompson. It was a 7-point game until the final 5 minutes of play where CMCC built on their lead winning 102-91.

NOTES OF THE GAME

·       Dustin Simpson-Bragg lead the Moose with 24 points and 12 rebounds

·       Sophomore Israel Brown had a season high of 20 points shooting 50% from 3-pt range

·       Senior Captain Noah Thompson had 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals, and 12 points
