Clippers edge past Moose in final seconds

MACHIAS, MAINE – The UMA men's basketball team traveled to Machias to face the defending Yankee Small Conference Champions on Thursday night. 

The Moose started the night with a jumper from freshman Calvin Furguson followed by two treys from Jordan Holmes in the first few minutes of play. After the Clippers allowed a 12-4 run by the Moose. The Clippers capitalized on their defensive play through the rest of the first half and went into halftime leading 44-34. 
Opening the second half of play UMA surged out of the locker room chipping away at the Clippers 10-point lead from the first half.  The Moose were able to battle and tied the game with a trey from Dustin Simpson-Bragg with 36 seconds remaining. The Clippers answered with a layup leaving the Moose 15 seconds and procession of the ball a chance to tie or win. Unfortunately, as the clock wound down, the Moose were unable to connect from behind the arch. 
Dustin Simpson Bragg had 35 points and 13 rebounds and Jordon Holmes ended the night with 41 points and 8 rebounds.
