Men’s basketball drops close contest with Dean College

CONCORD, N.H. - The University of Maine at Augusta men's basketball team battled back from a slow start, but fell just short of taking down an undefeated Dean College, falling 88-76 in the championship game of the Hogan Camps Men's Thanksgiving Tournament.

The Moose struggled from the floor in the first half, shooting only 32% from the floor, while the Bulldogs seemingly couldn't miss, hitting half of their shots from the field to take a 42-27 lead into the locker room. But UMA came out firing in the second half, led by 13 points from senior Brandon Rogers (Turlock, Calif.) who, along with fellow senior Keith Chesley (Clinton, Maine) scored a team-high 22 points for the game.

The Moose also received a strong second half performance from freshman Joseph Davila (Hartford, Conn.) who scored nine points on 3-4 shooting from behind the arc. Davila finished with 19 points on the afternoon.

UMA returns to home action on Tuesday night when the team takes on Yankee Small College Conference rival Southern Maine Community College at the Augusta Civic Center at 8:00 p.m.
