CONCORD, N.H. - Seniors Brandon Rogers and Keith Chesley each recorded double-double performances Saturday afternoon as the University of Maine at Augusta men's basketball team dropped the second round match up against Massachusetts Bay Community College 93-67 in the Edward Jones Men's Tap-Off Classic hosted by NHTI.
Chesley (Clinton, Maine) was 6-17 from the floor for 19 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds while Rogers (Turlock, Calif.) was 11-14 from the free-throw line in scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Caleb McGuire (Whitefield, Maine) was also in double-digits for the Moose with 15 points.
UMA was out-shot from the field by Mass Bay who shot 53% from the floor and 44% from the three-point line in the win. They were led by Brandon Portillo who scored a game-high 21 points.
The Moose return to action on Thursday with the first home game of the season against Central Maine Community College at the Augusta Civic Center.
