West is a first year student at the University of Maine at Augusta.  He is a graduate of Madison Area Memorial High School where he played football, tennis, basketball, golf, and baseball.  West lead the Mountain Valley Conference in Free Throw percentage his junior year.

Dustin is the son of Richard and Cherie West.  He has four siblings: Randy McMullen, Alex McMullen, RJ West, and Sasha Stecher.  West is a Justice Studies major at UMA and has career intentions of working for a government task force.  In his free time, West likes to play video games and enjoys the outdoors.
