Josh Smith currently enters his fifth year as the Assistant Golf Coach here at UMA.  Smith has successfully assisted head coach, Keith Ross, in  UMA qualify for the USCAA National Golf Tournament each of his four years as a coach.  Under his leadership, he has assisted with coaching YSCC Golf of the Year, Lee McDowell who had a standout golf career.  McDowell's best round was on September 12th, 2015 where he shot a 76 at the NHTI Invitational.  McDowell also hold the school record for highest placing at the USCAA Golf National Championship; 10th place.  Likewise, Smith coached UMA standout Evan Kordalski who recorded a personal best of 80 on September 9th, 2017.  The UMA golf team earned the YSCC Sportsmanship award in 2017. 

Smith graduated from Dover Area High School and is originally from East Berlin, Pennsylvania. He now resides in Rome, Maine.  Smith is a 2105 graduate of UMA and was a 4 year golfer.  During his time here at UMA, Smith named a USCAA Academic All-American in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and he earned a spot as a UMA Rising Scholar in 2013.  Smith's PR was 94, which he shot on September 9th, 2012.
