CONCORD, New Hampshire - First-year golfer Lee MacDowell made an impressive showing at his first collegiate golf match Saturday, shooting a four-over par 76 to win the NHTI Lynx Invitational at Beaver Meadow Golf Course.

MacDowell was the only golfer on the day to finish in the seventies, as Great Bay Community College's Kyle Gagne finished second with an 81, while Grayson Waterman of Southern Maine Community College took third. 

Paul Smith's College won the first conference meet of the season, finishing first out of six teams, finishing with an overall score of 365, just seven strokes in front of second place Southern Maine Community College, who shot a 372. Host NHTI was the only other team under 400 on the day, shooting a 399 for first place. UMA as a team finished in fourth place on the afternoon. 

The Moose return to competition on Saturday afternoon at Sable Oaks Golf Course in South Portland, Maine.
