Two golfers place in the top 50 at nationals

STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania - Junior Jacob Roddy (Justice Studies; Belgrade, Maine) and Freshman Connor Morey (Aviation, Deer Isle, Maine) finished in the top 50 this week at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament, hosted at the Penn State Blue Course. UMA finished with a team score of 368, placing them 16th overall. Daemen College of Amherst, New York won the tournament, finishing 12 over par for the two days and 25 strokes ahead of second place Lindenwood University (St. Charles, MO).

Roddy shot 89 and 81, respectively in the two round tournament, to finish tied for 39th place. Morey finished day one with an 80 (T-21) before shooting a 91 in the second round. Drew Moody (Business Administration; Sidney, Maine) and Keith Ross (Business Administration; Winthrop, Maine) rounded out the scoring for the Moose, as Moody finished tied for 85th, while Ross finished tied for 90th.
