Seven members of the men’s and women’s basketball teams have been named to the Yankee Small College Conference All-Academic team.  In order to be named to the team, student athletes are required to achieve at cumulative GPA of 3.25.

Freshman standouts Courtney Jicks (Lake Charles, LA) and Jamie Plummer (Richmond, ME) earned their spot on the team after an incredible first year both on and off the court.  Teammates Kimberly Carter (Princeton, ME) and Angelica Bulgin (Lisbon, ME) also earned these high honors for their academics.  Brandon Rogers (Turlock, CA), Keith Chelsey (Clinton, ME), and Robert Foss (Augusta, ME) from the men’s basketball team were also honored on the YSCC All-Academic team.

All seven student-athletes will be back at UMA next year.  They will set an example of what it means to be a student-athlete for the incoming freshman.  The department of athletics would like to congratulate these student-athletes on a very successful year at UMA.
