AUGUSTA, ME: On September 22nd, freshman golfer, Robert Greig (Augusta, ME) was named Yankee Small College Conference Player of the Week. Greig is the first UMA student-athlete of the new academic year to earn this award. On the week, he shot an 83 at Sable Oaks Golf Course in South Portland, ME. "Bobby had a great round on the tough course Saturday. Sable Oaks is long and narrow which required precision off the tee and patience into the green," explained Head Coach Tristan Starbird. "He was able to overcome a few tough holes and post a second place finish 83." Greig’s consistency and low shooting has earned him this honor. He followed up that performance with a score of 79 at Natanis Golf Course this past weekend.
The Moose continue their season on October, 4th 2014 at Penobscot Valley Golf Course hosted by Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC).
