AUGUSTA, ME—Seven student-athletes from the University of Maine at Augusta graduated this past Saturday at the Augusta Civic Center.

Of the seven student-athletes, five played fall sports.  Former soccer standout, Brynna Bedard (Manchester, ME) graduated with a BS in Dental Hygiene.  Cross country runner Allie Floyd (Poland, ME) graduated with a BS in Business Administration.  Floyd competed in all five meets this year, helping the women’s team earn a spot at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National championship meet.  The golf team graduated three student-athletes this year including Joshua Smith (Rome, ME), Jacob Roddy (Belgrade, ME), and Keith Ross (Winthrop, ME).  Smith graduated with a BA in Biology, Roddy earned a BS in Justice Studies, while Ross achieved a BS in Business Administration.  Smith was a four year golfer who helped earn the golf team a bid to the USCAA National tournament all four years.  Roddy was named the USCAA Student-Athlete of the Year this year for his community involvements well as his academic and athletic achievements.  Ross has helped the golf team to their last two trips to Nationals and has been very influential with his fundraising efforts.

Winter sport athletes Garrett Alley (Rockland, ME) and Erica Fredrick-Rock (Augusta, ME) rounded out the student-athlete representation at graduation.  Both Alley and Fredrick-Rock graduated with BA’s in Biology.  Alley was a co-captain on the men’s basketball team and helped them earn a spot in the elite eight.  Fredrick-Rock played for the women’s basketball team and was influential in their final four appearance this year.

On behalf of the entire UMA Athletics staff, we would like to congratulate our student-athletes.  We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.  Go Moose!
