AUGUSTA, ME – Junior Brandon Rogers had an outstanding regular season for the University of Maine at Augusta this season, averaging 22.6 points per game, which places him third in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), and 13.8 rebounds per game, which is good for first place in the USCAA. Rogers also reached a more elite milestone during the 2014-15 season, joining the exclusive 1,000-point club in a game at Eastern Maine Community College.
On February 6, 2015, the Rogers scored his 1,000th point, finishing the game with 27 points on the evening. Scoring was not all that Rogers did on the evening, however, as he also recorded 16 rebounds and dished out nine assists in the loss for UMA. Rogers became the second Moose player to reach the 1,000-point mark this season—joining teammate Keith Chesley, who scored his 1,000th point on December 2, 2014 against Unity College.
Rogers joins Chesley, as well as Michael Kane (1983), Philip Houdlette (1983), Mark McElveen (1986), Michael Haskell (1987), Dean Graham (1990), Dana Brann (1992), Matthew Belanger (1993), Gregory Chesley (1994), and Deon Cheers (2007), just to name a few, as members of the 1,000-point club for the UMA Moose.
On behalf of the UMA Athletic department, please help us in congratulating Brandon Rogers on joining some of the highest scoring men in UMA Moose history.
