AUGUSTA, ME – Sophomore Jamie Plummer has been a force to reckoned with this season for the University of Maine at Augusta, averaging over 20 points per game, which leads the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC). Plummer continued her dominance of the YSCC this season, scoring 505 points in the regular season, capped off with her 1,000th point in the Lady Moose’s final game of the 2014-15 season against New Hampshire Technical Institute.
The Moose hosted NHTI on February 11, with Plummer just one point away from reaching the milestone mark. Three minutes into the game, Plummer took a pass from Monique Moore and turned it into a layup to give her 1,001 career points. Plummer would finish the game with 18 points and 18 rebounds, while also recording five blocks to lead her team to victory.
Plummer was unstoppable all season long, scoring double-digit points in 22 out of her 25 games, including a season-high 31 points against Southern Maine Community College in November. Plummer’s run for 1,000 points was beneficial not only individually—but for the team as well, as the Moose finished the regular season on a six-game winning streak. Each of the six wins were decided by 14 points or more during that stretch.
Plummer becomes the fifth Lady Moose player to score 1,000 career points, and the third player in the last two seasons to reach the milestone. Jennifer Lola and Arreonte Lee are the most recent players to reach the mark after scoring their 1,000th points during the 2013-14 season.
On behalf of the UMA Athletic department, please help us in congratulating Jamie Plummer on this accomplishment.
