CONCORD, NH— In their fourth game in six nights, the Moose didn’t seem to be effected in their first half match up against YSCC conference opponent NHTI. The Moose got off to a quick start lead by sophomore captain, Jamie Plummer (Richmond, ME) who had 9 quick points in the first half. Freshman Kori Coro (Jackman, ME) who played in her first collegiate game also paced the Moose with a strong nine points off the bench in the first half. The Lady Moose stop 42% overall and took a 12 point lead at halftime against the Lynx of NHTI.
However; coming out of halftime, the Moose suffered through a scoring drought adding only 12 points to the scoreboard the entire second half. 15% shooting from the Moose and a surge of 36 points from NHTI in the second half solidified the win for the Lynx 52-40 over the Lady Moose.
“It was the tail of two halves,” said Coach Laney. “There were definitely spurts where we see what we are capable of. We just need to be more consistent. That will come with our growth. We are a young team this year but there is an incredible amount of potential here.”
Freshman point guard Carmen Bragg (Washburn, ME) had six points and four boards. Co-captain Jessica St. Amand had four points and four rebounds. Freshman guard Kylie Kemp (Monmouth, ME) finished the game with three steals, four boards, and two points while Monique Moore (Jefferson, ME) finished off the game with five rebounds and two points.
The Lady Moose have the weekend off and are back on the road in action against Thomas College on Wednesday at 5:30.
