Moose rise over Herons

PORTSMOUTH, NH-- The UMA women’s basketball team was back in action in Portsmouth, NH taking on the Herons of Great Bay Community College.  The Moose took an early lead in the game and with the help of each and every person on the team, they sailed to an 81-20 lead over the Herons.  The Moose were led by sophomore, Lindsey Clark who netted a collegiate high 16 points; going perfect from the charity stripe and 6 for 8 from the field.  Clark also pulled in 8 rebounds for the Moose.  Junior co-captain, Carmen Bragg, doled out 5 assists and earned 4 steals. 

Jamie Plummer and Caitlin LaFountain both put up 14 points while Morgan Card attacked the boards bringing in 6 offense rebounds and dropping in 10 points.  Freshman, Courtney Dunton led the Moose in rebounding with 10 rebounds, while Freshman, Kate Stevens had 11 points.  Halee Flewelling put up 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds while Hunter Chesley added 2 points and 3 rebounds. 

Point Guard Nichole Marrero from Great Bay Community College led the Herons with 12 points.

The Moose advance to 2-0 on the season and will take on rival Central Maine Community College on Thursday, November 10th as they play in their home opener.
